Getting Started

Views from Durango-Silverton Railroad, Colorado

When can I start traveling?

As soon as you want! Currently, SLPs can travel right out of graduate school; you don't need to wait until your fellowship is completed! I took a 9-month travel contract in a school to fulfill the fellowship requirements and to avoid changing supervisors, but you could complete your fellowship while traveling in any setting.

Topics to Get Started

Finding a recruiter can be daunting as there are endless options, usually all vying for your attention via phone, email, or text. However, because recruiters are the go-between of the client (company hiring you), staffing agency (who the recruiter works for and who pays you directly), and the therapist (you), they are arguably the most important decision you will make.
